Common Christian teaching is that\u00a0<b>grace is unmerited mercy<\/b>\u00a0(favor) that God gave to humanity by sending his son to die on a cross, thus delivering eternal salvation. This definition does not cover all uses of the term in scripture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">For example\u00a0<b>Luke 2:40<\/b>\u00a0(King James Version)\u00a0<b>&#8220;And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.&#8221;<\/b>\u00a0In this example when using the definition of grace to mean unmerited favor it does not make sense that the sinless Christ would need this. Equally how can one fall short of grace (<b>James 4:6<\/b>) or meekness attract it and pride repel it (<b>Galatians 5:4<\/b>) if it is unmerited.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">James Ryle has suggested\u00a0<b>&#8220;Grace is the empowering Presence of God enabling you to be who He created you to be, and to do what He has called you to do.&#8221;<\/b>\u00a0Alternatively Bill Gothard has suggested\u00a0<b>&#8220;Grace gives us the desire and the power that God gives us to do his will.&#8221;\u00a0<\/b>Both of these definitions make good sense of the word grace throughout the Bible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Exodus 16:4<\/b> , We are to have Grace Each and everyday, not just once in awhile. God, miraculously fed the Israelite&#8217;s as they traveled through the wilderness, but He only gave them a certain amount for one day at a time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This was and is one of God&#8217;s principles at work &#8212; that we are to trust Him each and everyday and not to worry of tomorrow. Jesus knew the principle when He taught His disciples to pray.<b>Matthew 6:11<\/b>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8221; Give us this day our daily bread.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">God told, them to take only enough for one day, so there wouldn&#8217;t be any left to become rotten filled with worms, or stink. God was letting them see He was going to take care of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">We all to do this today, Trust God in all things depend on Him for all your needs. When we worry about tomorrow, we are wasting today (Joyce Meyer)<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Trust requires, that we have unanswered questions God&#8217;s ways are not our own ways, but His ways are always the best ways. Trust in God and learn to live one day at a time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">God gives us enough grace for one day at a time and to avoid fatigue and burnout, weariness and fainting in our minds, we must learn to live day by day, one day at a time. That is why Jesus teaches us in\u00a0<b>Matthew 6:34<\/b>\u00a0to meet each days challenge as they come and not to borrow trouble from tomorrow.
